Took this big guy's picture in Yellowstone National Park in July, in the canyon area. Awesome sight! I wanted to reach out and touch that velvet...

Back Yard Visitor

This young Great Horned Owl was in my back yard on November 19th. He was napping in the cottonwood tree, and seemed like he could care less that I was below him taking pictures. In fact, he kept going back to sleep, so I had to make noise to get him to look at me. Gorgeous bird! I hope he'll visit again.

Getting Started...

It's a cold -5 degrees here this morning! Winter has arrived even though the calendar says it's still fall. 6 inches of snow on the ground has turned our plain brown world into a beautiful white wonderland. As soon as the sun made things start to sparkle, I headed out and took some pictures in my front yard. Frigid, but so beautiful and peaceful.
